We’ve been reading In the Shadow of the Fall by Tobi Ogundiran.
I know Koche might jump me for this, but I just started the book haha. I hope it’s good.
In a nutshell: Ashâke wants to be a priestess, but the gods she’s meant to serve ignore her. No powers, no blessings, nothing. Then the Godkillers show up, wiping out gods and their followers, and suddenly these same gods need her help to survive. She ends up carrying their spirits inside her, figuring out powers she never asked for, and trying to save everyone while avoiding corruption herself. Yoruba-inspired fantasy, dying gods, reluctant heroine basically.
The Meet-Up
